When James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios, they announced a variety of upcoming projects, including both animated and live-action TV shows and movies.
Along with the projects currently in development, new ones like Dynamic Duo and Teen Titans have been revealed, while others, like the rumored Clayface movie, remain unclear.
Recently, insider Daniel Richtman shared new leaks on his private Patreon, focusing on lesser-known DCU projects.
According to Richtman, DC Studios is moving ahead with a Clayface movie, which has been rumored for a while but never officially confirmed, unlike the Teen Titans projects.
After Richtman’s reveal, another insider known as Apocalyptic Horseman on X shared more details, which paint a more complicated picture. The script, written by Mike Flanagan, is finished, and the film is expected to be released after Supergirl, with plans to begin shooting in the spring.
Flanagan wrote the Clayface script but won’t be directing it because of scheduling conflicts with his Exorcist film.
Mike Flanagan, known for his horror projects like The Midnight Club, Doctor Sleep, and The Haunting of Hill House, had previously confirmed that he pitched a Clayface movie.
Re: CLAYFACE – the news today is entirely speculative. When or if something like that ever becomes real, I promise I’ll tell you guys. :),”
The insider also mentioned that the movie will likely be part of the DCU. As for who will play Clayface, Alan Tudyk is the most likely choice, though nothing has been officially confirmed yet, including the movie itself.
