Millie Bobby Brown Channeled Her ‘Wicked’ Fandom On ‘Stranger Things’ Set to New Heights—Literally!
Millie Bobby Brown isn’t just a talented actress—she’s also a big musical theater fan. And when it comes to musicals, ‘Wicked‘ is one of her favorites.
“I’m a big musical girl,” Brown admits, and her love for Broadway found its way onto the Stranger Things set in a memorable way.
According to series co-creator Matt Duffer, Brown once requested a very specific musical moment while filming a scene. “She asked us to play ‘Defying Gravity’ while she was hovering midair in a harness so she could pretend to fly like Elphaba,” Duffer shared.
The moment was hilarious for the crew—not only because Brown was fully committed to her role-play, but also because she knew it would get under the Duffer brothers’ skin. “Not just because she loves the song, but because she knows it drives us a little crazy,” he added.
Despite the playful antics, Brown always knew when to switch gears. “As soon as the camera rolls—barely a second before—that silliness vanishes, and she just…transforms into Eleven,” Duffer said.
Her ability to balance fun and focus is part of what makes her such a standout performer. And while the Duffer brothers might have been driven a little “crazy” by her Wicked obsession, they clearly admire her dedication and talent.
