Grey Ghost is a small, slender dragon with gray white skin that lets him hide within the clouds and mist, while the Cannibal is a large black scaled dragon with green eyes known for consuming the flesh of his own kind. The Cannibal is described as the largest and oldest of the wild dragons, with an age unknown to history, and smallfolk on Dragonstone even claimed he predated the Targaryens’ arrival in Westeros. Condal’s comments came during a press conference, where he expanded on just how personal this final chapter feels to him. He called it a great privilege to be able to tell the story and control how and when it ends, adding that this level of creative control is not something typically given in television. He also spoke warmly about closing out the series alongside Emma D’Arcy, who plays Rhaenyra Targaryen, calling her one of his favorite people in the world.
The timing only adds fuel to the fire. Season 3 left the Targaryen dynasty in shambles, with Helaena’s death and the unresolved fates of Daeron and his dragon Tessarion still hanging over the story, and ‘House of the Dragon’ fans are hungry for the war to escalate in the final season.
