Netflix Is Taking ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Off the Screen and Onto the World Stage With an Official Concert Tour
When ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ debuted on Netflix in June 2025, few could have predicted just how completely it would take over the cultural conversation. The Sony Animation production followed Huntrix, a K-pop girl group with a secret life as demon hunters, and what began as an animated film quickly became something far larger than any streaming service had planned for.
Within months the film surpassed 500 million views to become Netflix’s most popular title of all time, while its chart-topping soundtrack turned HUNTR/X into the first K-pop girl group, fictional or otherwise, to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. At the 2026 Academy Awards it claimed two Oscars, for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for “Golden,” the first K-pop song ever to win in that category, and it pulled in $24.7 million during its limited theatrical run.
Now Netflix is making its boldest move yet to keep that momentum alive. The streamer officially announced a global concert tour for ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ during its 2026 Upfronts presentation in New York City, produced in partnership with Los Angeles-based live entertainment company AEG Presents. Bloomberg had first scooped that Netflix was exploring the idea back in March, and the official confirmation on Wednesday made clear this is no small undertaking.
Netflix president of ad sales Amy Reinhard painted a vivid picture of the film’s cultural reach when she told the upfronts audience in Variety that the phenomenon generated sing-alongs, Halloween costumes, shoutouts at the U.S. Open and Buckingham Palace, and even a 25% spike in flights booked to Korea. It has not yet been confirmed whether the vocal performers behind the film’s characters, including EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami for HUNTR/X, will appear as live performers on the tour.
AEG Presents brings considerable experience to the project, having previously promoted sold-out world tours for some of K-pop’s biggest names, including BLACKPINK, JENNIE, ATEEZ, LE SSERAFIM, and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. The tour is expected to visit 150 cities starting in 2027, though specific dates and venues are still to be confirmed later this year, with fans able to join a waitlist through Netflix’s Tudum site for early updates.
Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria said in a statement via Deadline that directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans “didn’t just reach audiences, they ignited a global fandom that crossed languages, generations, and genres.” In March, Netflix also greenlit a sequel to the film with Kang and Appelhans returning under an exclusive multiyear writing and directing pact, ensuring the ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ universe continues to expand well beyond its animated origins.
The scale of this world tour announcement signals that Netflix sees ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ not as a one-hit streaming moment but as a full entertainment franchise worth building for the long haul. Whether the electric energy of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey on screen can truly translate to an arena stage is the question fans everywhere are already passionately debating, so let us know which city you are hoping HUNTR/X visits first and whether you think a live concert can capture what made the film so unforgettable.
