Netflix’s Next Harlan Coben Adaptation Just Locked In Its Leading Trio, And The Casting Has Fans Talking

Harlan Coben has quietly become one of Netflix’s most reliable creative partners, turning out twisty thrillers that keep landing in the streamer’s global top ten. Since signing his overall deal with the platform in 2018, the author has watched more than a dozen of his novels transform into television, a run that includes ‘Fool Me Once,’ ‘Stay Close,’ and the recent hit ‘I Will Find You.’

That partnership shows no signs of slowing down, and the next chapter is shaping up to be one of the author’s most personal projects yet. Coben’s Myron Bolitar novels, which began in 1995 with ‘Deal Breaker’ and have since stretched across a dozen books, are finally getting the small screen treatment fans have wanted for years.

Now the series has its cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Colin Woodell will step into the title role, playing a former college basketball star whose NBA dreams are cut short by injury before he reinvents himself as a sharp, charming sports agent. Joining him are ‘Riverdale’ alum KJ Apa and ‘Orange Is the New Black’ star Diane Guerrero, rounding out the show’s central trio.

Woodell, known to Netflix audiences from ‘Pulse’ and to genre fans from ‘The Continental,’ will anchor the series as Myron, described as building his agency MB Sports on a belief in overlooked athletes and the same competitive fire he once carried onto the court. Apa steps into the role of Win Lockwood, Myron’s closest friend and business partner, a man born into serious wealth who walked away from the family fortune to carve his own path. Guerrero plays Esperanza Diaz, a former professional wrestler turned Myron’s right hand at the agency, described as the sharp, unshakable backbone keeping the whole operation together.

Behind the camera, the series comes from David E. Kelley and Kyle Long, who will co-showrun, co-write, and executive produce alongside Coben himself. Greg Yaitanes is also attached to executive produce and direct multiple episodes. Coben called it an honor and great fun to partner with David E. Kelley and his team on the project, adding that the Myron Bolitar books mean a great deal to him personally, in a statement shared on Netflix’s Tudum.

‘Myron Bolitar’ joins an already crowded lineup of Coben adaptations at Netflix, sitting alongside titles like ‘Gone for Good,’ ‘Missing You,’ and ‘Caught.’ No premiere date has been set yet, but with its three leads now locked in, the series has officially moved from announcement to reality. Given how well ‘I Will Find You’ performed for the streamer earlier this year, expectations for this one are already running high.
