New Info Drops on Tarantino-Penned Cliff Booth Movie Directed by David Fincher, Netflix Steps In?

A new Netflix movie is on the way, and it’s bringing together some huge names. David Fincher is set to direct, Brad Pitt will star, and the script comes from none other than Quentin Tarantino. The movie, titled The Adventures of Cliff Booth, will follow the character Brad Pitt played in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
News about the project became public after it appeared in a recent list of California productions that qualified for state film tax credits. The movie was granted $20 million in tax incentives, which strongly suggests that filming will take place entirely in California.
According to the California Film Commission, the production is expected to spend over $100 million in the state and will shoot for 110 days. It will also employ hundreds of cast and crew, plus a large number of background actors.
Brad Pitt recently confirmed that the movie is real while promoting another of his films, F1, in London. He told Deadline, “This is something Quentin Tarantino wrote. It’s an episode, not really a sequel, of the character from Once Upon A Time. He didn’t want to direct it at this point, so our friend David Fincher stepped in.” He also said that filming will start in July.
This new film will pick up the story of Cliff Booth, the stuntman who helped carry Once Upon a Time in Hollywood to critical and box office success. That movie earned Pitt an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, and fans have been curious ever since about what might be next for the character.
Several actors have already joined the cast. These include Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Elizabeth Debicki, and Scott Caan. Netflix hasn’t released an official statement yet, but all signs point to the project moving ahead.
The film’s connection to California is part of a bigger push by the state to keep productions local. Governor Gavin Newsom has been working to increase annual tax credits for movies and TV shows. This new wave of incentives included 48 approved projects, many of them smaller independent films, with nearly $100 million handed out in total.
According to state officials, these productions will bring in hundreds of millions in local spending and provide jobs for thousands of workers.
In my view, this film sounds like a major event. You’ve got Tarantino’s writing, Fincher’s direction, and Brad Pitt back in one of his most popular roles. It’s not every day you see that kind of talent on one project. What do you think? Are you excited to see Cliff Booth return? Let us know in the comments below!
