Nick Frost Comments on Potential Hagrid Casting

Rubeus Hagrid is one of the most beloved Harry Potter characters of all time. A loyal friend of Harry’s and a character who showed his enormous bravery in the face of evil, Hagrid became a favorite of the readers from the very beginning.
Of course, the character was properly immortalized by the late Robbie Coltrane in the film series. Coltrane provided us with an interpretation of Hagrid that we loved and for many fans, it is difficult to imagine anyone else in the role.
But, the role of Hagrid will be recast for the upcoming television series, of course, and the most prominent contender we have at this point is Nick Frost. The actor himself has now decided to comment on the news.
Both physically and in terms of his career up to this point, Nick Frost seems like a solid candidate for the role. And while we are not going to dive into any comparison with Coltrane, we just want to say that – on paper – this looks like a pretty good casting choice (unlike some).
So far, we know that John Lithgow is the only actor who confirmed his participation in the project and in light of that, Nick Frost was recently asked about his involvement.
“It’s in no way, shape, or form confirmed. I’m thrilled that I would even be considered,” Frost said about the news that he would be playing Hagrid. Whether he is playing coy or telling the truth is still unknown, but the fact is that we’re still dealing with a rumor, and until either Frost or the production confirm it, we cannot be sure.
