Obi-Wan Kenobi: Disney+ Delays The Premiere Of The Next Star Wars Series
Obi-Wan Kenobi, the anticipated Star Wars series won’t premiere on May 25 as it was initially announced. In a new video announcement that Disney revealed today, it was revealed that Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on May 27 instead. On the other hand, even though we’ll need to wait two days longer, it was also announced that first two episodes will premiere together on the same day.
Check the announcement video below:
“Hello, Star Wars fans. Thank you for all your incredible support and response to Obi-Wan Kenobi. I have some important news. Our premiere date is moving just a couple of days, from Wednesday to Friday, May 27th. But here’s the exciting part: the first two episodes will premiere together. So make sure you tune in to both episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi, streaming Friday, May the 27th, exclusively on Disney+.” — Ewan McGregor
Ewan McGregor debuted as young Obi-Wan Kenobi in 1999’s Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, and he reprised the role in 2002’s Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, and 2005’s Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Although this prequel trilogy wasn’t acclaimed as much as the original Star Wars trilogy, McGregor’s performance as Obi-Wan Kenobi was praised by fans and they wanted for him to get a spin-off project. That wish was finally granted when Disney announced Obi-Wan Kenobi series in which McGregor will play the titular character, and Hayden Christensen will reprise the role of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.
“Ewan McGregor returns in the iconic role of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi for a special event series on Disney+. Officially titled Obi-Wan Kenobi, the series begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where he faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. The series is directed by Deborah Chow, who helmed memorable episodes of “The Mandalorian,” Season 1, and features the return of Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader.” — Obi-Wan Kenobi, official synopsis
We repeat, first two episodes of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will on premiere on Friday, May 27, 2022.
