Hello, Star Wars fans, first of all, allow us to wish you a Happy Star Wars day! May the Fourth be with you!

Second, is there a better day to release a trailer for the forthcoming Star Wars project? The short answer, there isn’t. So, Disney+ now offered us the official trailer for the upcoming Star Wars mini-series Obi-Wan Kenobi, in which Ewan McGregor returns as the titular character for the first time since he filmed Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith 17 years ago.

McGregor made his debut as young Obi-Wan Kenobi back in 1999 in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, and he reprised the role in 2002’s Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, and 2005’s Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Although this prequel trilogy wasn’t acclaimed as much as the original Star Wars trilogy, McGregor’s performance as Obi-Wan Kenobi was praised by fans and they wanted him to get a spin-off project. That wish was finally granted when Disney announced this Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin Skywalker in the prequel trilogy will reprise the role now as Darth Vader, even though his performance in the prequel trilogy was panned by critics and fans. Let’s hope he’ll have more luck this time.

Check the official trailer down below:

“The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. The series stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master, and also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.” — Obi-Wan Kenobi, official description

Directed by Deborah Chow and executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor, and Joby Harold, Obi-Wan Kenobi is scheduled to premiere the first two episodes on May 27, exclusively on Disney+.
