James Gunn’s Peacemaker, the spin-off series of the DCEU movie The Suicide Squad starring John Cena is only a week away. To make sure we won’t forget to check it out once it premieres on January 13 (like we could forget), DC released a new teaser focused on John Cena’s titular anti-hero.
The first three episodes of this 8-episode series will premiere on January 13, and while we’re waiting for the premiere, it was revealed that the series got an initial score of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. Check the newest teaser down below:
“Peacemaker is a live action series that follows Christopher Smith AKA Peacemaker, an extremist murderer who believes he’s on a quest for peace, killing anyone and everyone to achieve his ultimate goal.” — Peacemaker, synopsis
Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn wrote and directed The Suicide Squad movie which was kind of both a follow-up and reboot of David Ayer’s 2016’s Suicide Squad. Some actors from Ayer’s movie returned for this one, but Gunn’s movie mainly introduced new characters, including Christopher Smith, also known as Peacemaker, a character with very questionable views on the idea of peace.
Set after the events of The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker is also starring Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, and Chukwudi Iwuji. James Gunn wrote all the episodes of the first season, and directed five of them.
Peacemaker will premiere on January 13 with the first three episodes on HBOMax.
