PlayStation Reveals TEKKEN World Tour 2025 Announcement Trailer, Event Kicks Off in Early May

As far as fighting games are concerned, as you might assume, Tekken is one of the biggest and most popular franchises of all time. And this makes sense, the franchise has been around since 1994 and has been an exceptionally lucrative product for Bandai.

The most recent installment was released last year – Tekken 8 – and as you might have suspected, this title is going to be the focus of the upcoming World Tour event which kicks of very soon.

PlayStation and Bandai have released the official announcement trailer for the upcoming Tekken World Tour 2025 and we’re looking forward to the whole event, as it is going to be awesome.

As fans probably know, the World Tour was created as a season-long, points-based international tournament for Tekken players, in which the highest-ranked players get the chance to compete in the annual Tekken World Finals.

The first edition of the tournament was held in 2017 and the tournament has been held annually since then, with the exception of 2020 and 2021. This year’s edition is commencing on May 9, 2025, and PlayStation and Bandai have released the official trailer for the event:

This year’s edition will feature an offline-only season of Master+, Master, and Challenger tiers of tournaments as its major events, but there will also be 15 Regional leaderboards alongside the Global leaderboard. If you want to know how the point system will work, check out this official image:

Tekken 8 will be the game played this year, a tradition started last year; before that, of course, the official game for each edition was Tekken 7. The end date of the season has not been announced, but recent editions have generally lasted for at least eight months, so we can expect Tour to last until early 2026 at least.
