‘Predator: Killer of Killers’ Debuted with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes – A Must-See Bonus for Franchise Fans, Say Critics

Share:

Predator: Killer of Killers arrives today and promises a new kind of Predator story, one that steps away from the usual setup and dives into the past.

Instead of following a single timeline, this movie takes a different route. Killer of Killers will unfold through three separate stories, each set in a completely different period in history. That means three different warriors, three different battles, and three unique encounters with the deadly Yautja hunters.

It’s not one big plot but rather an anthology showing how humans across time have clashed with the galaxy’s most fearsome predator.

The movie was developed in secrecy, so hardly anyone knew about it until the first marketing materials started dropping. Now, first reactions to the movie are in, and they are amazing to say the least.

The movie originally debuted with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes (based on 12 reviews) before the score dropped to the current 96% when more reviews were added.

So far, the movie seems like a massive success, so let’s see what the reviews are saying:

Dan Trachtenberg follows the superb Prey with an equally awesome animated anthology that’s loaded with bloody action, sharp storytelling and big surprises. Predator: Killer of Killers reshapes everything we know about the monstrous trophy hunters.

Julian Roman MovieWeb

While I don’t think this movie will work for all audiences, I believe people who enjoy cool animated action films will love it, and Predator fans will devour it.

Julian Lytle RIOTUS

“Predator: Killer of Killers” is the best movie a 10-year-old boy could ever hope to see. That’s because it’s really a bunch of bloody, action-filled animated stories in one neat, 90-minute package.

Bob Strauss San Francisco Chronicle

Emotionally satisfying, albeit with an open-ended conclusion, the gruesome anthology continues to assert animation as a versatile and viable storytelling vehicle for all genres.

Carlos Aguilar Variety

While best viewed sequentially for strictly narrative reasons, each piece in Predator: Killer Of Killers offers something unique and gratifying in its own way, either in the form of dramatic action set pieces or in their visual presentation.

Toussaint Egan AV Club

Predator: Killer of Killers is a stunning animated achievement, taking the franchise in a new direction with endless potential. Few creatives understand the series as well as director Dan Trachtenberg, and he’s thankfully just getting started.

Andrew J. Salazar Discussing Film

The movie currently has only one negative review:

Two-thirds of the action-packed animated anthology film decisively storyboards gruesome violence, only to become ensnared in its expansive trap.
