‘Deadpool 3’ stands as the sole MCU project with a slated 2024 release among the upcoming lineup. However, the most anticipated project in the next 2 to 3 years is the ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot. Recent reports indicate Pedro Pascal in discussions for Reed Richards, with Vanessa Kirby confirmed as Sue Storm. Rumors suggest Joseph Quinn as Ben Grimm and Daveed Diggs as Johnny Storm.

Despite Pedro Pascal’s confirmed involvement, the rest of Marvel’s first family remains unconfirmed. According to reliable source Daniel Richtman, Pascal is the only locked-in cast member, while the others are still negotiating with Marvel Studios. Filming is set to commence in July 2024, raising hopes for additional cast updates before then.

In 2019, Kevin Feige unveiled plans for a ‘Fantastic Four’ film within the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Jon Watts, director of MCU’s Spider-Man films, was initially attached in December 2020 but stepped down in April 2022. Feige later disclosed in July that the reboot would skip the origin story.

In August, Matt Shakman entered discussions to direct, officially confirmed in September at the Disney event D23. Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer were hired as writers the same month, with Josh Friedman joining in March 2023 for script revisions. Principal photography was scheduled to commence in London in January 2024. Although the initial release date was set for November 8, 2024, it was later adjusted to February 14, 2025, and eventually finalized for May 2, 2025, as part of Phase Six of the MCU.
