In just a few days, Creature Commandos will be released, marking the official start of James Gunn’s and Peter Safran’s DCU.
The series follows a black ops team of monsters assembled by Amanda Waller. James Gunn wrote all seven episodes, with Dean Lorey as the showrunner and Yves “Balak” Bigerel as the supervising director.
The cast features Steve Agee, Maria Bakalova, Anya Chalotra, Zoë Chao, Frank Grillo, Sean Gunn, David Harbour, Alan Tudyk, Indira Varma, and Viola Davis.
After the first season of Peacemaker, Amanda Waller can no longer risk human lives for her secret missions like she did with the Suicide Squad and Team Peacemaker. So, she creates a black ops team of monsters called the Creature Commandos, led by General Rick Flag Sr.
Industry insider Daniel Richtman says Anya Chalotra’s character, Circe, who will first appear in Creature Commandos, will have a major role in the future of the DCU, which will be teased in the show.
This info came from Richtman’s paid newsletter.
Circe won’t be a “one and done” character, as James Gunn confirmed on social media that Anya Chalotra will reprise her role in live-action as well.
Circe is a powerful sorceress in DC Comics and one of Wonder Woman’s main foes. She has magical powers that let her control minds, turn people into animals, and cast spells. Known for her cunning and thirst for power, Circe often uses her magic to manipulate others, which suggests she will play a major role in the future of the DCU.
