Robert Pattinson Says His Bruce Wayne Isn’t A Billionare Playboy

We all know who Bruce Wayne is by day, and we all know who is he by night. Although we know Bruce Wayne is a crime-fighting vigilante, and during the day he acts like a regular playboy billionaire. Or is he?
We all remember how Michael Caine’s Alfred said to Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne: “if you start pretending to have fun, you might even have a little by accident.” When he’s not wearing the Bat-suit, Wayne usually spends time driving his expensive cars, attending various events with Gotham’s crème de la crème, spending his money on things that are not for sale, and generally playing dumb when he’s asked about Batman. Previous Batman actors Michael Keaton, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck were all like that; Batman by night, playboy billionaire by day.
But, will Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne follow the same example? Not likely. According to Pattinson, his Bruce Wayne will differ from previous incarnations because he’s not really a socialite. He’s a mysterious figure as both Bruce Wayne and Batman.
“Bruce has been hiding away. He’s not really a socialite at all. He’s building all these little contraptions and things, just with Alfred. And even Alfred thinks he’s gone insane!” — Robert Pattinson for Empire Magazine.
It will be interesting to see this new take on the Caped Crusader. Matt Reeves is directing this next movie that’s set to hit theaters in March 2022. The Batman is starring Robert Pattinson as the titular character, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Bruce’s butler Alfred, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin. The movie will follow younger Bruce Wayne, who’s only in his second year as the Caped Crusader. It was teased that the movie will focus on Batman’s detective abilities. Two sequels are already planned, as well as the two spin-off shows for HBOMax.
