As this year is coming to an end, fans of comic book movies and TV shows are looking forward to 2022 and everything that next year will bring us in terms of new projects from DC, Marvel, and other third-party comic book houses.

Next year, Warner Bros. is set to release four live-action feature films based on DC publications. One of them is The Batman. Matt Reeves is directing the newest reboot based on the Caped Crusader and Robert Pattinson is starring in the titular role.

After Ben Affleck walked out of the project that was supposed to be his Batman solo movie, Matt Reeves decided to make an all-new Batman incarnation set outside of the DCEU. Pattinson was cast as younger Bruce Wayne, who is only in his second year as the famous crime-fighter. He must deal with the corruption that’s poisoning Gotham City and fight against other supervillains like Riddler and Penguin, who will be played by Paul Dano and Colin Farrell, respectively.

Empire Magazine recently revealed new covers featuring new looks on Robert Pattinson’s Batman and Zoë Kravitz‘s Catwoman. Today, we got a bit more – two new images featuring Robert Pattinson as both Bruce Wayne and the Batman, which are giving us the sense of his duality. You can see both images below:

“When I write, I listen to music, and as I was writing the first act, I put on Nirvana’s ‘Something In The Way’. That’s when it came to me that, rather than make Bruce Wayne the playboy version we’ve seen before, there’s another version who had gone through a great tragedy and become a recluse. So I started making this connection to Gus Van Sant’s Last Days, and the idea of this fictionalised version of Kurt Cobain being in this kind of decaying manor.” — Matt Reeves for Empire Magazine

Directed by Matt Reeves, and starring Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell, The Batman is set to open in theaters on March 4, 2022.
