Rumors: Beyonder Takes Center Stage as the Villain of ‘Secret Wars’ – A Great Opportunity To Replace Kang

The MCU has a slew of projects lined up for release in 2024, 2025, and beyond. While various movies are currently in production, facing delays due to ongoing strikes, none are as highly anticipated as ‘Avengers 5’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ set to continue the MCU’s tradition of grand crossovers.
Details about these projects were initially scarce, but it was known that Kang the Conqueror was expected to step into the role of the primary antagonist for the Multiverse Saga, succeeding Thanos. However, the reception to Kang, especially after the release of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,’ indicated a different story. Jonathan Majors, who portrayed Kang and his variants, also faced legal issues, leaving his MCU status uncertain for over half a year. Disney, cautious after previous controversies, took time to make a decision regarding Majors.
Just a week ago, the legal verdict was delivered, finding Majors guilty of third-degree assault and harassment, possibly leading to prison time. Almost immediately, a Marvel Studios spokesperson announced Majors’ termination. Amid rumors of Kang being recast, there are also speculations that ‘Avengers: Kang Dynasty’ is now simply referred to as ‘Avengers 5.’
Adding to the mix, MyTimeToShineHello, a relatively reliable leaker, has emerged with rumors on X, suggesting that Beyonder will be the main villain in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’ This move is speculated to serve as the studio’s opportunity to recast Kang.
It’s a plausible move, considering the longstanding rumors about Beyonder appearing in ‘Secret Wars.’ Shifting him into a more prominent role than Kang once occupied does align with the ongoing narrative. Yet, given the current tumultuous state of the MCU, distinguishing between fact and fiction has become challenging. What does seem clear for now is that Kang is slated for a swift exit.
