Rumors: New Ghost Rider Expected in Future MCU Works
Since the release of ‘Echo,’ fans have received confirmation that ‘The Defenders’ Saga is part of the MCU canon, despite some inconsistencies with established lore. However, recent reports suggest that not all events from the saga will be acknowledged in the MCU, with some being ignored and certain characters being recast.
For years, there has been ongoing debate about Ghost Rider’s inclusion in the MCU. Robbie Reyes was introduced in ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,’ played by Gabriel Luna, but his character departed in Season 4 Episode 22, the finale, as he went to dispose of Darkhold in Hell.
With rumors swirling about a standalone Ghost Rider project, notable leaker Daniel Richtman has confirmed that the Ghost Rider from the Defenders Saga won’t be the one featured in the MCU. Instead, it’s likely a different, more popular version of the character will be utilized, potentially with a new actor in the role.
There are rumors circulating that Feige is considering turning the rumored Ghost Rider TV show into a movie. Fans are already suggesting it should be rated R and speculating about which version of the character might be featured.
There’s an opportunity for the MCU to completely recast Ghost Rider if they choose to explain Gabriel Luna’s Robbie Reyes’ departure by stating he died while disposing of Darkhold.
