Rumors: ‘Shang-Chi 2’ Won’t Revisit Key Location From the First Movie
Marvel Studios and Disney have several projects in development and production, despite recent statements indicating they will reduce the scale and output of their movies and shows due to mixed results in recent years. However, fans are eagerly anticipating certain projects, including the sequel to ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.’
Development on the sequel to ‘Shang-Chi’ began in December 2021, with director and writer Cretton and star Liu expected to return. Liu expressed interest in exploring his character’s journey with the Ten Rings and his role in the MCU. However, by July 2023, Liu was unsure about the sequel’s production timeline, mentioning it was planned for release after ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,’ which had been postponed to 2026 and renamed. He anticipated more details would emerge soon.
We recently reported that filming for ‘Shang-Chi 2’ is set to start in 2025, and it’s anticipated that more details about the movie’s plot will emerge. Now, according to prominent leaker and insider MyTimeToShineHello, one significant location from the first film, Ta Lo, will not be featured in ‘Shang-Chi 2.’
Ta Lo exists as a dimension within the Multiverse, accessible through a portal on Earth and guarded by a maze-like bamboo forest that unveils a safe path yearly during the Qingming Festival. Populated by humans and various mythical creatures, including Dijiang, Fenghuang, Jiu Wei Hu, Qilin, Shishi, and the Great Protector. Ta Lo first appeared in the MCU in ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,’ followed by its inclusion in the recently released ‘What If…?’ Season 3 Episode titled ‘What If…Hela Found the Ten Rings.’
Given the focus on time travel in the upcoming movie, featuring characters like Iron Fist, it’s logical for Ta Lo not to be included in the film. Got something to add? Let us know in the comments below!
