Rumors Suggest That ‘World War Hulk’ Storyline Is To Be Adapted in the Future

Ruffalo Set to Reprise Hulk Role in Captain America Brave New World Hulk Standalone Film Off the Table

Every year brings fresh rumors about the development of a ‘World War Hulk’ movie. These rumors have persisted for years without any sign of resolution.

Over a year ago, there was a report suggesting that Marvel Studios was working on a new Hulk solo movie, with Mark Ruffalo slated to star. The movie was said to be titled ‘World War Hulk’ and loosely based on the comic book storyline of the same name. However, since Marvel Studios never officially confirmed this, the report was not taken seriously. Nevertheless, fans continued to hope, especially after hints were dropped in the ‘She-Hulk’ series finale in 2022.

Recently, Ruffalo confirmed what many had feared: the chances of a standalone Hulk movie are slim to none.

This is because of complex intellectual property and distribution rights involving both Marvel Studios and Universal. Marvel allowed Universal Pictures to produce a Hulk movie in 2003, but Universal couldn’t produce a sequel, so the character rights reverted to Marvel. In 2008, Marvel and Universal collaborated on ‘The Incredible Hulk,’ but Universal retained distribution rights for 15 years.

Recently, rumors have resurfaced suggesting that although a standalone Hulk movie is unlikely, there are plans to transform the ‘World War Hulk’ project into an ‘Avengers’ film. Both K.C. Walsh and Alex Perez have confirmed this as the current plan for the Hulk in the MCU. Alex Perez straightforwardly confirmed this in a recent Q&A. While this project can’t technically be labeled as a Hulk movie due to distribution laws, we can anticipate the Hulk to take center stage.

Yes. I am confident that World War Hulk will be adapted.

There are rumors circulating that Hulk might make appearances in ‘Avengers 5’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’ Additionally, Ruffalo initially confirmed his role in ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ but later retracted his statement, suggesting some uncertainty.
