Rumors: Two Exciting Characters Set to Appear in ‘Beyond the Spider-Verse’

One of the standout animated superhero projects in recent times is undoubtedly the ‘Spider-Verse’ franchise. The first film, ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,’ was a huge success, followed by its sequel ‘Across the Spider-Verse,’ which broke numerous records.

The sequel, marking Sony Pictures Animation’s first global theatrical release since ‘The Angry Birds Movie 2’ in 2019, received praise from critics and achieved significant box office success. Surpassing its predecessor, it grossed an impressive $690.5 million worldwide and ranked as the third highest-grossing film in the U.S. for 2023. Notably, it became Sony Pictures Animation’s highest-grossing film and won Best Animated Film at the National Board of Review. The American Film Institute also recognized it as one of the top 10 films of 2023.

Recently, Chris Miller confirmed that the third installment, ‘Beyond the Spider-Verse,’ is in advanced stages of development. However, there hasn’t been much discussion about the movie’s plot. In a recent Q&A, Alex Perez provided some insight into the type of character we can anticipate appearing in the film.

Supaidaman and Leopardon will be in Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Supaidāman is essentially a Japanese version of Spider-Man. Takuya Yamashiro, a motocross driver and the son of astrophysicist Dr. Hiroshi Yamashiro, becomes his universe’s Spider-Man after receiving the Spider Bracelet and Spider Extract. He is often accompanied by his loyal robot, Leopardon.

With Miles Morales’ Spider-Verse already featuring various alternate Spider-People, fans are excited to see Supaidaman join the mix.
