Sadie Sink Just Named Her New Favorite Show, And It’s Tied To Her Own Next Project
Sadie Sink is having one of the busiest stretches of her career. The actress recently wrapped a decade long run as Max Mayfield on ‘Stranger Things’, stepped onto the West End stage opposite Noah Jupe in ‘Romeo & Juliet’, and is now gearing up for her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’.
With so many projects in motion, Sink is also about to become a TV insider in her own right. Her upcoming FX limited series, an adaptation of Jeffrey Eugenides’ novel ‘The Marriage Plot’, comes from writer Will Arbery and will be directed by Hiro Murai, the Emmy nominated filmmaker behind Apple TV’s horror comedy series Widow’s Bay.
Now it turns out Sink is putting her own stamp of approval on Murai’s other show. According to a Deadline report shared by the fan account Film Updates, Sink named ‘Widow’s Bay’ as one of her favorite shows of the moment, giving the freshman Apple TV series a very public co sign from one of Hollywood’s most in demand young stars.
For anyone who has not caught up yet, the series follows Mayor Tom Loftis, played by Matthew Rhys, as he tries to turn his island town into a tourist hotspot despite locals warning that it is cursed. The show, created by Katie Dippold, also stars Kate O’Flynn, Kevin Carroll, Dale Dickey, Kingston Rumi Southwick, and Stephen Root.
‘Widow’s Bay’ has quickly become one of the genuine breakout hits of the year. It landed 19 Emmy nominations this year, including a nod in outstanding comedy series as well as a nomination for star Matthew Rhys, making it the strongest showing of any new series this awards season.

Apple TV clearly noticed the momentum too. The streamer ordered a second season of the horror comedy and signed creator Katie Dippold to a new multi year overall deal, with head of programming Matt Cherniss noting the show “has become one of those shows everyone’s talking about”, according to Deadline.
Critics have been just as enthusiastic. The Daily Beast called Widow’s Bay the coolest show on TV, praising the ensemble cast and the series’ ability to blend genuine scares with unexpected humor.
With Sink now adding her name to the growing list of famous fans, and her own Murai collaboration already in development, it is hard not to wonder how much crossover energy there will be between ‘Widow’s Bay’ and ‘The Marriage Plot’ once cameras start rolling.
