The Jurassic Park franchise is roaring back to life with Jurassic World Rebirth. The highly anticipated reboot debuted its first trailer at CinemaCon, giving fans a taste of the dino-filled action to come.

Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey lead the film, and they’re about to find out that some things are better left extinct. The new footage delivers everything fans love—massive dinosaurs, high-stakes adventure, and, of course, plenty of humans running for their lives.

The trailer teases several high-action moments, including an attempt to steal the eggs of a quetzalcoatlus, which leads to a heart-pounding aerial escape. A mosasaur attack nearly capsizes a research team’s boat, and, in a surprising twist, a terrifying new dinosaur is introduced—one that looks like a fire-breathing T-Rex.

For those who prefer their dinosaurs less deadly, there’s also a baby triceratops. But even that moment turns chaotic when a much larger, more menacing creature appears, looking for its next meal.

Scarlett Johansson, one of the film’s biggest stars, revealed that joining the Jurassic franchise has been a longtime dream.

“It has been a lifelong dream to be in a Jurassic movie. … For the last 15 years I’d reach out and say I’m available here,” Johansson shared during Universal’s presentation at CinemaCon.

Director Gareth Edwards joked about her persistence, saying, “She’s too expensive.

Determined to make it happen, Johansson personally reached out to Steven Spielberg, the director of the original Jurassic Park and the franchise’s godfather.

I told him I’d play any role even if I’m eaten in the first five minutes,” she said.

Spoiler alert,” Edwards quipped.

The film takes place five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion. Dinosaurs are struggling to survive due to environmental changes, but a few remain on an island that once housed the original Jurassic Park research facility.

Only the worst ones are here,” a character warns in the trailer.

Despite the dangers, a team of scientists embarks on a secret mission to extract dinosaur DNA for medical research. Of course, things don’t go as planned, leading to thrilling chases and deadly encounters with some of the most fearsome creatures ever brought to the big screen.

Jurassic World Rebirth is set to hit theaters on July 2, 2025. Universal also showcased footage from Wicked: For Good, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, and M3GAN 2.0 during its CinemaCon presentation.
