Scream: Fans Already Want The Sixth Installment Of The Horror Movie Series

The fifth installment of the horror franchise Scream, simply titled Scream, was recently released in theaters and it received very positive reviews from both critics and the audience. The fans of the Scream series loved it so much that they’re already started asking for Scream 6 on social media.

The Scream franchise kicked off in 1996 with the original movie directed by Wes Craven. Craven also directed 1997’s Scream 2, 2000’s Scream 3, and 2011’s Scream 4, which was his last project before his death in 2015. Now, directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are honoring Craven’s legacy with the fifth movie that currently holds a score of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes, plus 84% of the audience score.

While it’s unknown at the time if the franchise will continue (we would actually be surprised if it doesn’t), there were already some teases from directors that this year’s Scream could lead to more sequels. Star Neve Campbell, who played Sidney Prescott in all the movies of the franchise also revealed recently if she would be up for more:

It would seem there’s always more stories to be told in Woodsboro and there is a taste for it. So, I think, if people love this one, I would imagine there will be an appetite and we, of course, would all love to be a part of it.” — Neve Cambell for ScreenRant
