The PV confirmed the following cast members: Akari Kageyama as Mokuro Hoshimiya and Hitomi Nabatame as Nia Honjo. In addition, the opening song “Over” will be sung by Miyu Tomita. For the closing theme song, sweet ARMS will sing “S.O.S.”
Originally, Date A Live IV was scheduled to premiere in October 2021, but it was moved to 2022 due to unforeseen circumstances. The series follows high school student Shido Itsuka, a seemingly ordinary boy faced with an unimaginable task: confront a spirit said to be a threat to humanity by “defeating” it through a date.
Jun Nakagawa will be directing the fourth season. Seasons one to three of the anime were directed by Keitaro Motonaga.
Miyu Tomita and sweet ARMS shared a few comments with Comic Natalie staff during a short interview. Tomita, who will be singing the opening song, said that she had worked on the song for more than a year. She described “Over” as an intense yet beautiful piece. Sweet ARMS, who have performed a couple of other theme songs for Date A Live, described “S.O.S” as the perfect piece bringing the battles with the spirits to life.
