Shawn Levy’s Comments on Taylor Swift in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Rumors, Fueling Further Speculation

Some time ago, we put together a list of all the expected and rumored appearances in the movie. It listed 19 characters, but now it seems to have grown to 20 after the CinemaCon video showing Thor mourning Deadpool’s demise.

One notable name on that list is Taylor Swift. Since she’s friends with both Reynolds and his partner, Blake Lively, fans guessed she might be a good fit for a celebrity cameo.

There’s been talk about Taylor Swift possibly joining the cast of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ since 2022, but nothing official yet. Reynolds showed his excitement in an interview

“Are you kidding me? I would do anything for that woman. She’s a genius.”

Reynolds hinted at a possible collaboration with Taylor in a teaser video released in September 2022. Fans noticed it was filmed in the same place as Taylor Swift’s ‘All Too Well: The Short Film’ video. Considering Reynolds’ known fandom for Taylor Swift, the teaser wasn’t much of a shock for Swifties.

Adding to the speculation, Disinsider confirmed the rumors, naming Taylor Swift as one of the actors slated to join the ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ cast. The post suggested that Swift, already linked with Dazzler by fans, would be part of a lineup including Hugh Jackman and other big names for the movie.

As the movie’s release approaches, Shawn Levy spoke about the rumors himself in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, stating:

I can’t even believe that you would dare ask me a question that you know I can’t answer.

Fans quickly assumed Taylor Swift must be in the movie, or else Shawn would have debunked the rumors, right? That’s something Gunn often does on Threads.

However, movie marketing doesn’t quite work like that. If fans hope to see Taylor in the movie, and if that rumor convinces even just one person to watch it who might have skipped otherwise, he’s okay with it.

Swift is rumored to appear as either Dazzler or Lady Deadpool, but it’s worth noting that Lady Deadpool has been increasingly associated with Blake Lively lately.
