‘Spider-Man 4’ Storyline Reportedly Revised, Kingpin No Longer Included

“Spider-Man 4” is one of the most anticipated MCU projects in development. It will kick off a new trilogy, and recent leaks and rumors have hinted at what we might expect from the film.
It appears the movie was envisioned as a street-level story, shifting away from the Multiverse theme explored in previous installments. Rumors suggest that Kingpin and Daredevil will make appearances, helping to keep the narrative grounded.
The script for “Spider-Man 4” is still in progress, according to Tom Holland’s latest updates, so none of the recent rumors are confirmed. In a recent Discord AMA, Alex Perez indicated that the Kingpin and street-level setting might no longer be part of the movie.
Perez also shared that “Spider-Man 4” is tentatively slated for release in July 2026. This date was originally reserved by Marvel but has since been allocated to Sony.
While it’s unclear which film will bridge the gap between “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” “Spider-Man 4” is a strong contender. Zendaya is expected to return as MJ, and filming is anticipated to begin later this year to meet the release timeline.
J.K. Simmons is likely to reprise his role as J. Jonah Jameson, and other characters, including potentially Ned, might be introduced as Peter Parker heads to Empire State University. There’s speculation about the return of villains from “No Way Home” and the potential introduction of the symbiote. However, Perez believes the symbiote might make its debut in “Secret Wars” rather than “Spider-Man 4.”
The storyline could also change, which might push back the introduction of Kingpin and the potential appearance of Norman Osborn or Otto Octavius. The director for “Spider-Man 4” has yet to be confirmed, though there are rumors that Marvel is considering a few candidates.
As mentioned, these details are largely speculative and have not been officially confirmed. However, since Perez has a track record of reliability, it’s worth considering these possibilities until further information is available.
