The official trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home was released around 12 hours ago at the time of writing this. While the trailer is breaking records, and fans are sharing their thoughts on social media, the trailer showed us some new things we can expect from the movie.
Thanks to the trailer, we can say for sure now that the movie will feature at least five villains, and all of them are coming back either from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy or Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man duology.
One this is certain – No Way Home is a whole festival of returning villains. Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man 2, Willem Dafoe’s Norman Osborn/Green Goblin from Spider-Man, Jamie Foxx’s Max Dillion/Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman from Spider-Man 3 are all confirmed. The trailer also offered us a first look at Rhys Ifans’ Lizard, a villain returning from The Amazing Spider-Man.
The trailer showed us a lot but still managed to keep a lot of secrets, or as many secrets as it can considering all the leaks and theories. One of those is one quick scene with Green Goblin where the character doesn’t look like Dafoe’s Goblin like in the rest of the trailer. Could it be that we can expect more than one Green Goblin making a comeback?
Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: No Way Home is starring Tom Holland in his third solo movie and sixth MCU appearance overall. The movie also stars Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Marisa Tomei, and Benedict Wong.
With the reported runtime of 2 hours and 37 minutes, Spider-Man: No Way Home will hit theaters on December 17. Only one month to go!
