SPY×FAMILY original voice actors

In this section, we are going to go over the main characters from SPY×FAMILY and reveal the voices behind them. We’re going to tell you a bit about each character and then something about the voice actors as well.

Twilight / Loid Forger

Voice Actor: Takuya Eguchi

Loid is a spy from WISE, Westalis’ intelligence agency, who has great combat, memory, and information processing abilities. He uses different faces and names for each mission, although he is generally known by his code name, “Twilight.” To be able to carry out his last mission, he must have a “child” enrolled in a prestigious school where one of the admission criteria is that “both parents are present,” hence the reason why he created a fake family with Anya and Yor.

He is good at cooking and cleaning. As “Loid Forger,” he poses as a psychiatrist at Berlint General Hospital. A former war orphan, he became a spy in order to create a “world where children would not cry.”

Takuya Eguchi (born in Setagaya, Tokyo on May 22, 1987) is a Japanese voice actor and singer, affiliated with 81 Produce. As a singer, he is portrayed by Kiramune. Some of his best known roles include Shinji Koganei in Kuroko no Basket, Asemu Asuno in Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, William Twining in Makai Ōji, Hikigaya Hachiman in Oregairu, and Yuji Terushima in Haikyū!I.

Thorn Princess / Yor Forger

Voice Actress: Saori Hayami

Believed to be an employee of Berlint’s central town hall, Yor is actually a skilled killer nicknamed “Princess Ibara.” Her combat power and physical ability surpass that of Twilight, but she is a natural airhead and is bad at lying. She also does not take alcohol. Yor’s maiden name before marrying Loid is Briar. She is 27 years old. Without knowing who Loid really is and thinking that Anya is Loid’s daughter from his previous marriage, she agrees to the fake marriage so as not to appear suspicious.

As an assassin, Yor is good at cleaning but not at other household chores, especially cooking. For this reason, Loid does most of the cooking, although she recently started learning to cook with one of her colleagues. Her younger brother, named Yuri, is outwardly a civil servant and is very attached to his older sister.

Saori Hayami (born in Tokyo on May 29, 1991) is a seiyū and singer. As Seiyū, she is represented by the agency I’m Enterprise. She is known, among other things, for her speaking roles in Seraph of the End or the film A Silent Voice. After voicing theme songs for series, she released her first single on August 12, 2015 and has since been signed to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Japan.

Anya Forger

Voice Actress: Atsumi Tanezaki

A little girl who can read other people’s minds, Anya is the only one who knows her family’s overall situation. She is actually only 4 or 5 years old but pretended to be 6 so Loid would adopt her. Originally, she is an experimental human test subject called “Subject 007”, but escaped because she was disgusted with a life where she couldn’t behave like a child.

Due to her capacity, she does not appreciate being near crowds. Besides not having received a proper education, she is not good at studying and sometimes makes up for it by reading someone else’s mind for answers, although it seems that she cannot use his abilities during a new moon. She loves spy anime series and thinks anything ‘secret’ and ‘mission’ is exciting.

Atsumi Tanezaki is a Japanese voice actress formerly affiliated with the Toritori Office. She is represented by the Tokyo Actor’s Consumer’s Cooperative Society. In an interview with Repotama, Tanezaki revealed that when she saw Sailor Moon, the series was shocking to her and she became an actress. She had part-time jobs after graduating from high school in Ōita Prefecture. In an interview, she said that her favorite voice actresses are Miyuki Sawashiro and Mayumi Tanaka.

Yuri Briar

Voice Actor: Kensho Ono

Yor’s 20-year-old younger brother. Very protective of his sister, he hides his profession from her by pretending to be an official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is actually a lieutenant in Ostania’s political police, the Security State Service (SSS), and deals with counterintelligence. His mission is to capture the agent known by the code name “Twilight” even though he doesn’t know his true appearance. He is very attached to his sister, and is suspicious of Loid, who “married” Yor without knowing who the latter really was.

Kenshō Ono is a Japanese actor, seiyū, and singer, currently affiliated with Animo Produce. Previously, he was represented by Sunaoka Office. He is known for dubbing the voice of Harry Potter in the film series, Harry Potter, and for his numerous roles in anime series and dramas. He too, he is known for playing Muromachi Tōji in the well-known musical The Prince of Tennis.

Franky Franklin

Voice Actor: Hiroyuki Yoshino

Franky is a kind person who helps Loid when he is in trouble, even when the danger is great. He often warns Loid Forger not to get too close to other people in their jobs. He often falls in love with other women, but his love life usually fails due to lack of mutual interest or the fact that they are already with someone else.

He is quite greedy for money, being willing to do Loid a favor as long as the latter promises him material goods, even if he has hesitated before or the situation is extremely dangerous. Not much is known about Franky’s past, except that he works in a tobacco store, which he uses as a cover for his activity as an informant for WISE. He once dreamed of improving work with his inventions and making money from patents.

Hiroyuki Yoshino is a Japanese voice actor and singer affiliated with Sigma Seven. Some of his leading roles include Prunce in Star Twinkle PreCure, Yoshimori Sumimura in Kekkaishi, Yuji Kagura in Tona-Gura!, Takumi Nishijō in Chaos;Head, Yusuke “Bossun” Fujisaki in Sket Dance, Meow in Space Dandy, Favaro in Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis and Galina in Yoru no Yatterman.

He also played supporting characters such as Bernard Firestar in Divergence Eve, Chrome in Cluster Edge, Debito in La storia della Arcana Famiglia, Natsumi Minami in Minami-ke, Allelujah Haptism in Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Yuto Kido in Inazuma Eleven, Rin Hirakoba in The Prince of Tennis, Kenichi Saruyama in To Love-Ru, Iwaizumi Hajime in Haikyū!!, Houka Inumata in Kill la Kill, and Yasutumo Arakita in Yowamushi Pedal. In video games he has been the voice of Heisuke Todo in Hakuoki and Heishi Otomaru in Norn9.

Sylvia Sherwood

Voice Actress: Yūko Kaida

Not much was shown to understand her personality, but from what was shown it appears that she is similar to Twilight, i.e. she is dedicated, skilled, and approaches ideas logically, but is still a somewhat impatient person, even though the target, Donovan Desmond, has engaged in some suspicious activity and was willing to artificially make Anya show more Stella Stars, only to be told that this would expose the agents and Anya is under surveillance. It’s safe to assume that she does not really understand children, as seen when she told Loid to just bribe Anya with candy.

It has been revealed that she once had a daughter of a similar age to Anya, but possibly the war has resulted in her no longer having a daughter. Based on her past actions, it can be assumed that she had her daughter a long time ago and now does not know how to deal with children because she has dedicated her life to peace. This could be the reason for her presence on WISE, but she still acts like a good mother. She comforts Anya about what they will do with the dogs and tells her that they will treat them with care.

Yūko Kaida is a Japanese seiyū. She works at Ken Production. She is best known for having lent her voice to Neela Rasgotra in Emergencies, Shimei Ryomo in Ikki Tousen, Kyô Takamimori in Potemayo, Amane Ootori in Strawberry Panic!, Minako Tsukiyama in Maria-sama ga miteru and Matsu in the Devil Kings video game. She is often confused with actress Yuki Kaida.

Henry Henderson

Voice Actor: Kazuhiro Yamaji

Being already elderly, Henry is a mature and noble person. This can be seen in his interview with the Forger family, he was calm and composed. Even at Eden Academy, when he teaches students, he mentally observes and criticizes them. Although, he is a bit strange, given his constant obsession with “elegance.” Not much is known about Henry’s upbringing, but it can be assumed that he has some sort of high social background.

Kazuhiro Yamaji is a Japanese actor and seiyū affiliated with the Seinenza Theater Company. His oeuvre includes several film roles, but he is mostly known as a seiyū in various anime (e.g., Psycho-Pass, Detective Conan, Sword Art Online) and dubbed versions of foreign movies, in which he often dubbed the roles of Christoph Waltz, Jason Statham, Hugh Jackman, Sean Penn, Russell Crowe, and Willem Dafoe. Yamaji has also starred in theater; he was nominated for the 2010 Kikuta Kazuo Award for his roles of Karenin in Ana Karenina and Kazuyja Ikeda in the drama Takarazuka Boys.

Damian Desmond

Voice Actress: Natsumi Fujiwara

He is the second son of Donovan Desmond, the leader of the National Unity Party, an important and powerful group that threatens the peace between the East and the West. This has led Damian to achieve a highly respected status among his peers, making him incredibly arrogant, so much so that he assumes Anya has a crush on him when she stares at him. It is shown that he prefers to be called Lord Damian when he is addressed.

He becomes angry when he is belittled by Anya’s smile and quickly resorts to insulting her with his limited vocabulary and bullying Anya. After taking a hit from Anya, he becomes very embarrassed in her presence. After Anya’s tearful apology, Damian has a crush on Anya, which he refuses to acknowledge, and runs away out of embarrassment.

Natsumi Fujiwara is a Japanese voice actress represented by the Arts Vision agency. She graduated from the Japan Narration Performance Institute. Some of her more famous roles include Chihiro Komiya in Shōnen Maid, Tōru Mutsuki in Tokyo Ghoul:re, Daigo Shigeno in Major 2nd and Abigail Jones in Great Pretender.

Becky Blackbell

Voice Actress: Emiri Katō

Becky is a very friendly child, but being the daughter of a large military manufacturer, she shows herself to be somewhat haughty and tries to be adult, trying to take Anya under her wing out of benevolence, even though she thinks Anya is a brat. She does not try to get close to Damian Desmond, despite his social standing, and even looks down on her classmates who try to befriend Damian and Anya, who is initially bullied by Damian’s group. Later, Anya’s confident smile wins over Becky’s admiration for her maturity.

Becky is quite patient and accepts Anya’s wish to be called “Starlight Anya” after she successfully gets a Stella Star. You can also tell she has a slightly lower attitude about the value of money when she does not show much interest in mentioning how she received gifts like a doll embedded in diamonds and her own little house in her backyard for doing well in school.

Emiri Katō trained as a voice actress at Amusement Media Sōgō Gakuin, graduating in 2004; then she was signed by the agency 81 Produce. She made her debut as a voice actress that same year with a small role in Kyō kara Maō! and later that year even starred in the children’s anime series Nepos Napos.

Her breakthrough came in 2006/2007 with the role of Momoko Akatsutsumi/Hyper Blossom in Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z or the Kagami Hiiragi in Lucky Star. For this, she was awarded at the 2nd Seiyū Awards 2008 alongside Yū Kobayashi as the best young speaker. She was also, along with Aya Hirano, Kaori Fukuhara, and Aya Endō, nominated for the Best Female Singer.

In 2012, she was honored at the 6th Seiyū Awards for Best Supporting Actress. In 2008 she also began a music career when she released her debut studio album vivid with Pony Canyon.
