Many Star Wars fans can agree that with so many installations across various platforms, it can become tricky to keep track of what’s going on. We’ve gathered everything you need to know about the Star Wars universe, compiling iconic events from the most popular and significant comics, books, TV shows, movies, and video games in chronological order.
Star Wars Event Timeline
There have been a ton of canon Star Wars installations over the past couple of decades, spanning over hundreds of years within the Star Wars universe. The following installations have been placed according to official statements from creators as well as some mainstream deductions based on the information gathered from the events in each installation.
Glancing at the Star Wars universe timeline infographic, it may feel like there’s a lot going on at the same time. And, that’s because, there is – it’s worth noting that Star Wars events often overlap between installations. We’ve also included quite a few other installations, all of which feature important information concerning the Star Wars universe timeline.
The High Republic Era
The High Republic Era takes place approximately 200 years before any of the Star Wars films and has become incredibly popular amongst fans. This era involves the Golden Age of the Jedi, where the Jedi were described as the Knights of the Round Table within the Star Wars universe.
However, there are massive disasters throughout this era, with new dangers arising and wreaking havoc onto the unsuspecting Jedi. Fans have no idea what the future will hold concerning new releases as this era still leaves plenty of room for questions, but we can assume that its events ultimately caused the decline of the Jedis.

The infamous Yoda was born at around 900 BBY. By around 200 BBY, the Jedi’s were at their peak. After the year 232 BBY, the great disasters that eventually begin taking down the Jedis begin to emerge.

Star Wars Journeys: Beginnings is a video game, created as an adaption of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. However, this installation may span up until 19 BBY. It was also released by Disney Publishing as an iOS app.
Star Wars Battlefront II (Video Game; 2017)
Star Wars Battlefront II is a video game based on the three trilogies. It was created by Electronic Arts and developed by DICE, Motive Studios, and Criterion Games. This story starts in 32 BBY but may span right up until 34 ABY.

Star Wars Adventures: The Clone Wars – Battle Tales were comics written by Michael Moreci and released throughout 2020. The story follows the Jedi and their clone battalions as they attempt to stop enemies.
The Clone Wars (TV; 2008-2010)
The Clone Wars was a TV series, involving various talented creators. Seasons 1 was released from 2008 to 2009, Season 2 was released in 2009, and Season 3 was released in 2010.

“501 Plus One” is a comic, written by Marc Guggenheim. The story follows Captain Rex and Anakin Skywalker as they battle against the Separatist’s droid armies.

This part of the era is defined by the Clone Wars. Anakin becomes a Jedi Knight while his apprentice becomes stronger in the force. Many battles are won for both sides throughout this timeframe.

Dark Disciple (Novel; 2015)

This era is far darker than many others, but it’s packed with important details that define future events.

Most Star Wars fans are familiar with this era, as it’s often the start of many enthusiasts’ Star Wars journey. The rebellion begins to grow throughout this timeframe, as do the rebellions greatest heroes – Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo.
This era is absolutely epic, filled with a ton of action-packed adventures and thrills. The rebellion gains an upper hand by the end of this era, as they manage to overthrow Darth Vader and the Emperor while destroying Death Stars.

Rise of the First Order

A map to Skywalker is discovered by Rey on Planet Jakku, while Finn defects to the Resistance. The Resistance destroys Starkiller Base and avoids massive, universal calamities. Rey eventually finds Luke Skywalker, but he denies providing any assistance until the very last moment.
The First Order hunts down the Resistance, nearly taking them out, but Rey manages to save them. Strangely, Rey and Kylo Ren almost seem to have a team-mate-like connection, but Kylo remains on the dark side.
