At the Star Wars Celebration 2022 event in Anaheim, California, Disney and Lucasfilm officially announced a new original series set in the Star Wars franchise — Star Wars: Skeleton Crew — and Jude Law is the first actor officially announced to star in the series.

Jude Law is best known for 1999’s The Talented Mr. Ripley and 2003’s Cold Mountain, which got him two nominations for the Academy Awards, although he didn’t win for either of those movies. He also starred in the MCU movie Captain Marvel as the antagonist Yon-Rogg, the Sherlock Holmes movies starring Robert Downey Jr. as Dr. John Watson, and the Fantastic Beasts franchise, in which he played young Albus Dumbledore.

“Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, an Original series starring Jude Law, from executive producers Jon Watts, Christopher Ford, Jon Favreau, and Dave Filoni, is streaming in 2023 only on @DisneyPlus.”
