‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ Leads Rotten Tomatoes Streaming Chart as Audience Score Rises

Star Wars: The Acolyte’ recently aired its final episode, and reactions remain mixed. Some fans have praised the inclusion of Yoda and Darth Plagueis, while others are disappointed with the direction of the story.

The show has faced both review-bombing and review-boosting, and it appears to have struggled to reach a broad audience, resonating mainly with fans who either praised or criticized it intensely.

Yesterday, we reported that the audience score for The Acolyte on Rotten Tomatoes had increased from 13-14% to 17%. Today, the show has made it onto RT’s list of the 25 “Most Popular Shows to Watch Currently,” alongside ‘House of the Dragon,’ ‘Supacell,’ and the latest season of ‘The Boys.’

Rotten Tomatoes is not the only platform noting The Acolyte‘s high popularity. A few weeks ago, we highlighted that The Acolyte was the second-most popular show in the Star Wars franchise, only behind Obi-Wan Kenobi.

As often happens with popularity charts, they tend to reflect “online presence” rather than distinguishing between positive and negative interactions. On Rotten Tomatoes, The Acolyte has accumulated more reviews than all seasons of The Mandalorian combined. Although most reviews have been negative, the show is clearly generating significant engagement.

Another factor to consider is Headland’s recent push among fans to secure a second season for the show. Leslye Headland encouraged fans to discuss the show online, leave positive feedback, and disregard IMDb ratings as a way to help ensure a second season. While these strategies are sound, the sudden surge in overwhelmingly positive responses for a show that has faced significant criticism over the past month seems unusual.
