‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ Vanishes from Nielsen Charts as Viewership Hits Record Low

‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ faced significant review-bombing and review-boosting. The show was controversial even before its release due to provocative statements from the cast and crew, which drew attention to certain aspects of the show that were ultimately lacking.
As we’ve delved into the viewership data over the weeks, some charts have shown ‘The Acolyte’ losing viewers with each new episode, while others have claimed it was the second-most popular show in the Star Wars franchise based on questionable criteria, as discussed in our weekly analysis.
Nielsen Charts are gradually releasing their data, and while they aren’t entirely accurate, they are currently our best resource for assessing the show’s overall viewership. The most recent Nielsen data ranked The Acolyte as the second-least-watched Star Wars series, with viewership only surpassing Andor.
The latest figures, however, show that The Acolyte did not make the top 10 most-streamed shows. Viewership declined sharply after Episode 3, aligning with the trends observed in Luminate’s data over the past several weeks.
The data reveals that The Acolyte is currently the least-watched Star Wars series on Disney+, with viewership falling from 488 million minutes during its two-episode premiere to 370 million minutes by Episode 3, placing it behind Andor.
While this data may not be the most current and only covers viewership up to Episode 3, early indications from social media suggest that the show’s viewership has indeed declined, even before the latest numbers are available.
Around the midpoint of the show, ‘The Acolyte’ saw a sharp drop in attention. The only discussions about the show were from passionate supporters or fervent critics, while the average viewer seemed to be absent. However, this is merely an observation and should be considered anecdotal. We won’t have a clear picture of the viewership until the official numbers are released.
