Summer Game Fest 2025: Top Game Reveals and Release Dates You Need to Know

Summer Game Fest 2025 brought a bunch of exciting news and game reveals. Here’s a quick look at some of the biggest announcements from the event:

1. Stranger Than Heaven Revealed

Project Century got a new name: Stranger Than Heaven. The studio showed a good look at the game. It will come to some platforms, but we don’t know which ones or when yet. Fairly little information was released overall.

2. Bandai Namco Reveals Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree

Bandai Namco showed a new game called Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree. The game will come out on September 19, 2025. You can play it on PC, Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

3. Guest Racers Revealed for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will have guest racers like Hatsune Miku, Ichiban Kasuga from Like a Dragon, Joker from Persona 5, and Steve from Minecraft. It’s a surprising mix of characters from different games.

4. Atomic Heart 2 Announced Alongside Completely New Game

Mundfish released Atomic Heart a little over two years ago. Now, they are working on Atomic Heart 2, which will come to PC and consoles later. They also have another new game called The Cube, set in the same world, coming to PC and consoles too.

5. Lego Voyagers Announced

Light Studio, the maker of Lego Builder’s Journey, is back with a new game called Lego Voyages. It’s a two-player co-op adventure with a friends pass like Split Fiction.

6. ILL Gets New Gameplay Trailer

The survival horror game ILL was shown at Summer Game Fest. It has scary body horror and crazy dismemberment. You play by exploring a creepy research fort to find something very important to you.

7. Chronicles: Medieval Shows Off New Gameplay Footage

Tom Hardy introduced a new game called Chronicles: Medieval. We saw knights riding horses going to war. The game will come to PC in early access in 2026.

8. Resident Evil 9 Officially Revealed as Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom revealed Resident Evil 9, now called Resident Evil Requiem. It will come out on February 27, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game will have a new style with “cinematic high stakes action.”

Lies of P: Overture, a prequel to the action RPG, is out today.

10. Dying Light: The Beast Release Date Set

Techland showed new gameplay for Dying Light: The Beast and said it will release on August 22, 2025. The game is a standalone story where you play as Kyle Crane again.

11. Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver Announced

The game mixes Afro-surrealism and anime styles. It has a soundtrack with classic Wu-Tang songs and new music by DJ Just Blaze. The story is about fighting an evil force called the Deceiver. You and your friends join the Wu-Tang Clan to save Shaolin and bring hope and peace.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword got a new gameplay trailer. It shows the game’s tough and bloody fighting.

13. Game of Thrones: War for Westeros Showcased

Game of Thrones: War for Westeros is a new strategy game. You can control the Great Houses or the Night King. Play alone or with friends to fight and win the Seven Kingdoms.

14. Arc Raiders Reveals Release Date

Embark Studios said at Summer Game Fest that Arc Raiders will come out on October 30, 2025. You can play it on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. They will share more details before it launches.

15. Hitman World of Assassination New Update Showcased

IO Interactive is working on 007 First Light, but they also released a new update for Hitman World of Assassination. In this update, players can try to take out Mads Mikkelsen’s character, Le Chiffre, from Casino Royale. Mikkelsen returns as the Bond villain.

16. Scott Pilgrim EX Announced

Bryan Lee O’Malley announced a new Scott Pilgrim game called Scott Pilgrim EX. It’s a co-op fighting game with the classic style fans like. The game will come to PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, but no release date yet.

17. First Look at Mortal Shell 2 Revealed

Mortal Shell 2 is the new sequel to Mortal Shell. It has intense and bloody fights, scary monsters, and more. The game will come out in 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game lets you explore a big, connected world and has better combat and weapon upgrades than before.

18. Square Enix Reveals Killer Inn

Square Enix showed a new game called Killer Inn. In this game, players are in a big mansion and split into two teams: Wolves and Lambs. The Wolves try to kill all the Lambs. The Lambs don’t know who their friends are, so they have to figure out who is safe and who is dangerous.

19. Death Stranding 2 Shows New Story Trailer

At Summer Game Fest 2025, we saw a new story trailer for Death Stranding 2. The characters Neil and Lucy, played by Luca Marinelli and Alissa Jung, are the main focus. Death Stranding 2: On The Beach will come out on PS5 on June 26, 2025.

20. Wildgate Releases Next Month

Wildgate is a space shooter made by Moonshot Games, a team with former Blizzard members. It will be released on July 22, 2025. Before that, players can try an open beta for free from June 9 to June 16. The beta works on many platforms.
