Sylvester Stallone Will Return As Stakar In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Sylvester Stallone made his debut as Stakar Ogord in the 2017 movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and now he confirmed he’ll return in the upcoming third installment of James Gunn’s MCU franchise.

It is known that Stallone loves working with James Gunn. After making an appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2., Stallone also voiced Nanaue aka King Shark in Gunn’s DC movie The Suicide Squad, which was released last August.

James Gunn recently announced that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 started production. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, and Sean Gunn are all returning to reprise their respective roles from previous Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Chukwudi Iwuji, who worked in Gunn on Peacemaker TV show joined the cast in an undisclosed role, while Will Poulter will debut as Adam Warlock, whose appearance was teased in the mid-credit scene of Vol. 2.

Except for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Stallone is also working on Expendables 4, which recently wrapped production. He will also star in the upcoming movie Samaritan, which is expected to hit theaters in August 2022.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be set after Avengers: Endgame and Thor: Love and Thunder, where some of the Guardians will also show up – those that left Earth with Thor at the of Endgame. Prior to the release of Vol. 3, Guardians will also show up in Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special, which will debut in December 2022 on Disney+.

Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theaters on May 5, 2023.
