Deadpool & Wolverine was released two weeks ago and is widely regarded as a major success, breaking box-office records. It marks both Deadpool’s and Wolverine’s debut in the MCU and serves as a fitting farewell to characters from the Fox X-Men franchise and other related Marvel properties.

The film features an extensive cast, including Garner reprising her role as Elektra, Snipes returning as Blade, and Keen bringing back her X-23 character from the 2017 film Logan.

We also know that many actors from previous Deadpool films returned to reprise their roles, including Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Briana Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, and Stefan Kapičić.

However, T.J. Miller was notably absent, and while the specific reason for his exclusion was never disclosed, we can speculate on why he was not involved in the film.

Recently, comments made by Miller two years ago have resurfaced online. He had previously stated that he would not return for Deadpool 3 even if asked, suggesting that he was not approached about the project.

I would not have done ‘Deadpool 3’ if they came to me and they were like, ‘We want you to do ‘Deadpool 3.’

Video commentator highlighted that while the movie successfully brought back several other characters, it seemed they had no interest in Miller. He suggested that he should perhaps temper his ego a bit.

“My god, how much of an ego do you have? The fact that they managed to bring this guy, Randal Reeder, to play as Buck from the last two previous Deadpool movies tell me how much a f—— insignificant douche nozzle you were back then dude. And I find it very fitting that you played a character named f—— Weasel.”

It’s important to note that Miller’s absence from the movie is likely related to his legal issues and serious allegations rather than his ego.

On December 9, 2016, Miller was arrested in Los Angeles for allegedly assaulting an Uber driver, though he was released on $20,000 bail and settled with the driver in March 2018. Additionally, in late 2017, a resurfaced sexual assault allegation from his college years involved claims of violent behavior during a 2001 encounter. While some witnesses supported the accuser’s story, the college’s proceedings were sealed. Miller’s representatives dismissed the allegations as coming from a disgruntled former colleague and criticized their timing. As a result, DreamWorks Animation replaced him with Justin Rupple in How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.

Further complicating matters, on April 9, 2018, Miller was arrested at LaGuardia Airport for making a false bomb threat. He had falsely claimed that a female passenger on Amtrak Train 2256 had a bomb, although he was actually on Train 2258, which was also evacuated and searched.

Given these issues, it’s understandable why Disney would choose not to associate with Miller, despite his personal connections with Reynolds.

Fans agreed that Miller’s character wasn’t missed all that much:

I don’t think once during Dead Pool 3 was I ever like “Where was tj miller 🤯😱”

im gonna be 100% i didn’t even remember that tj Miller was in deadpool

it’s extra funny because Deadpool says “everyone I care about is in this picture” (wherein TJ Miller is nowhere to be found) and it’s one of the main motivations of the plot

Ryan washed his hands of TJ Miller and the movies were better for it

honestly I was thinking where the hell is bill skarsgård at 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I totally forgot about tj Miller

I honestly forgot he existed if it weren’t for this interview? podcast?
