Gundam is a Japanese military fiction media franchise created by Hajime Yatate and Yoshiyuki Tomino. Gundam franchise started off with the Mobile Suit Gundam TV series that is counted among the defining works of the robot mecha anime genre. Gundam franchise consists of numerous tv series, films, OVAs, manga, novels, video games as well as numerous other merchandise spawning model kits and toys.
