The Apothecary Diaries
‘The Apothecary Diaries’ is a Japanese light novel series written by Natsu Hyūga and illustrated by Touko Shino. It has been serialized online since 2011 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō and was later acquired by Shufunotomo. Initially published as a novel with a single volume in 2012, it was later released as a light novel series in 2014. The story is set in a fictional country inspired by Imperial China. The series has been adapted into two manga series in 2017 and has been licensed digitally in North America by J-Novel Club, with Square Enix handling the print version. The manga adaptation, illustrated by Nekokurage, is also licensed by Square Enix. An anime television series adaptation, produced by Toho Animation Studio and OLM, premiered in October 2023.
