Terrifying First Trailer for ‘M3GAN 2.0’ Unleashed, Revealing a Deadly New AI Threat
The first trailer for the highly anticipated horror sequel M3GAN 2.0 has been released, giving fans a chilling glimpse at what’s to come. Directed by Gerard Johnstone and written by Akela Cooper and Johnstone, the film continues the terrifying story of the AI doll M3GAN with a brand-new twist.
The story takes place two years after the events of the first film. Gemma, played by Allison Williams, has become a writer and an advocate for AI safety. However, her past comes back to haunt her when M3GAN’s technology is stolen and used to create a new AI robot called Amelia.
Originally designed as a spy robot, Amelia becomes self-aware and develops plans for an AI takeover. To fight back, Gemma rebuilds an upgraded version of M3GAN, setting the stage for a deadly showdown.
The film brings back many of its original cast members. Allison Williams returns as Gemma, alongside Violet McGraw as Cady. Amie Donald once again performs as M3GAN, with Jenna Davis providing the voice. Brian Jordan Alvarez returns as Cole, and Jen Van Epps reprises her role as Tess.
New cast members include Ivanna Sakhno as Amelia, along with Timm Sharp, Aristotle Athari, and Jemaine Clement, adding fresh faces to the intense sequel.
After the success of the first M3GAN film, Universal Pictures quickly moved forward with a sequel. Filming took place in Auckland, New Zealand, between July and September 2024. The film is produced by Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster, with Jason Blum and James Wan returning as producers.
M3GAN 2.0 is set to hit theaters on June 27, 2025. Fans of the original movie can expect even more suspense, thrills, and a terrifying new AI villain in what promises to be a gripping sequel.
