Few props in pop culture carry the weight of the Infinity Gauntlet. The oversized glove became iconic in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, where Thanos uses it to wipe out half of all life with a single snap of his fingers.

Now, a one-of-a-kind Infinity Gauntlet replica set with genuine precious gemstones is about to find a new owner, and it won’t come cheap. This isn’t just any collectible either. The piece was first unveiled at Marvel’s booth during San Diego Comic-Con in 2022, with “Shark Tank” investor and FUBU founder Daymond John making the announcement.

Designer Darren Romanelli, also known as DRx, served as creative director on the gems, while Gentle Giant Ltd. crafted the gauntlet that houses them. Fast forward to today, and the IGN Store is partnering with East Continental Gems and Julien’s Auctions to auction off the 1-of-1 replica this December with a starting bid of $25 million.

According to Reuters, the auction will take place on December 8 at Rosewood Abu Dhabi. The gauntlet will serve as a headline lot of Julien’s Auctions’ Celebrity & Culture Experience and will tour Bahrain throughout November ahead of the sale.

That $25 million figure isn’t new. When the gauntlet debuted at Comic-Con, it was offered for sale at that same price. This time, though, the number serves as the opening bid, leaving plenty of room for collectors to drive it even higher.

What makes this replica so special is what’s inside it. Together, the 6 stones weigh in at more than 150 carats, each chosen to match its on-screen counterpart. The Time Stone is a Colombian emerald, the Space Stone is a sapphire from Madagascar, the Reality Stone is a ruby from Mozambique, the Power Stone is an amethyst, the Soul Stone is a spessartite garnet, and the Mind Stone is a yellow diamond.

Accuracy was also a priority behind the scenes. Marvel granted East Continental Gems access to the layered design files behind the gauntlet seen on screen. The family-run jeweler has operated out of the same New York office since 1972, and its fourth-generation team translated each Infinity Stone into a real-world gem.

Julien’s Auctions believes the gauntlet has broad appeal. Talia Friedman, who leads special projects for the auction house, told Reuters that the piece could attract passionate Marvel fans, jewelry collectors and art collectors alike. In other words, this is as much a trophy as it is a piece of fan memorabilia.

The timing feels deliberate as well. The December sale lands just days before Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ arrives in theaters on December 18, keeping the franchise firmly in the spotlight as fans gear up for the next massive crossover.

For fans who don’t have $25 million lying around, East Continental Gems has offered smaller alternatives. The jeweler previously released a 9-inch Collector’s Edition replica handcrafted from solid brass and set with 6 genuine gemstones totaling 3.18 carats. Limited to just 200 pieces, it went up for pre-order at Big Bad Toy Store for $16,129.99 and sold out within hours.

The original gauntlet has also made public appearances since its debut. It was featured on rotation at the limited-time ECG Concept showroom in New York’s SoHo neighborhood, giving fans a rare chance to see the piece up close. Come December, though, only one collector will get to call it their own.

Would you ever buy Marvel’s real-gem Infinity Gauntlet if you had $25 million to spare?
