The Batman, Matt Reeves newest movie and the newest reboot in the Batman franchise is just around the corner. With only three days left until the premiere in theaters, the cast and crew are continuing to promote the film. It’s known what this movie will focus on; younger Batman, his detective abilities, fight against Riddler, relationship with Catwoman, etc. But, what’s Bruce Wayne without his Alfred?

Andy Serkis is best known for the role of Gollum in The Lord of the Rings franchise, the role Ulysses Klaue in MCU movies Avengers: Age of Ultron and Black Panther, and the role of Snoke in Star Wars movies The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. He also directed last year’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage starring Tom Hardy. Now, Serkis is officially a part of the DC as well, with the role of Alfred Pennyworth in The Batman, a movie in which the titular role is played by Robert Pattinson.

In a recent interview, Serkis praised the director Matt Reeves and his take on the story and Gotham City.

“Matt is very specific about what he sees. He sees it when he’s writing. It translates out of the emotion of what he’s writing. […] There are so many great shots, but what I will say is, I’ve never seen Gotham look so complete, sort of its own thing and a character in a way.” — Andy Serkis for Collider
