‘The Boys’ recently released its fourth season. Even though the show was highly political from the start, the showrunners decided to kick it up a notch in the latest season, referencing real-world politics in an obvious way and even going as far as stating that Homelander is a metaphor for Donald Trump.

This sort of polarized the fandom which led to the show being review-bombed. Despite these review-bombing instances, and despite the show having a lower quality writing this season, it still managed to be an absolute hit with audiences with record viewership as confirmed by several sources.

While we are waiting for the show’s final season, the brand in general and showrunners are trying to stay relevant by posting to social media often. Often referencing real-world events. Kripke recently mocked Trump by sharing a photoshopped image of Snyder’s Justice League with Trump supporters instead of Justice League members.

Now you can imagine that following the presidential debate, ‘The Boys’ had to answer “the call.”

The first debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump took place in Philadelphia on September 10. Moderated by ABC News, the debate covered a broad range of topics including the economy, abortion, immigration, and race, and extended beyond the planned 90 minutes. The exchange saw Harris challenge Trump on various issues, including his rally crowd sizes, while Trump humorously referenced his red hats in response to Harris’s positions.

This is the part that ‘The Boys’ referenced in their social media post:

‘The Boys’ referenced the fact that Trump tends to exaggerate reality to an extent and often flirts with “alternative facts” to get his point across. Although humorous, fans of the show did not take lightly to this post, claiming that it’s getting kind of lame to put politics into everything, including superhero shows:
