The Boys: Season 4 Begins Production, Cast Members Announce On Social Media

The Boys

The latest, third season of the popular satirical superhero series The Boys aired last June. Now, the cast and crew shared on their respective social media accounts shared they’re back on the set to begin the production of the fourth season.

The third season of the series finished with the titular team beating Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy who was put back into an induced coma. It’s not known if Ackles will return in Season 4. The season also finished with Homelander’s son Ryan joining sides with his father, which makes us kinda scared about Ryan’s future. Cameron Crovetti, who plays Ryan has been promoted to a series regular for the fourth season.

The showrunner Eric Kripke shared the first page of the screenplay, revealing that the first episode of Season 4 will be titled Department of Dirty Tricks. Sounds intriguing. You can check the tweet down below, as well as the the tweets from some of the cast members who wanted to mark the beginning of the production.

Based on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s homonymous comic book, The Boys series first premiered in July 2019, and the second season premiered in September 2020. The series received critical acclaim for its writing, storyline, humor, and performances, particularly of Karl Urban, who plays Billy Butcher, and Antony Starr, who plays Butcher’s mortal enemy Homelander, a psychopathic superhero who isn’t what the public thinks he is, and only Butcher’s team can uncover the secrets and corruption behind Vought, a company which monetized the Seven, a group of not-really-good superheroes led by the psychopathic supe Homelander.

Starring Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, and Karen Fukuhara, the first three seasons of The Boys are now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. There’s no word when will the fourth season premiere, but we’re expecting next year. We are excited nonetheless.
