‘The Fabulous’ Ending Explained: Is Joseph’s Collection Launch Successful?
Welcome to the Ending Explained for The Fabulous, season 1. A new Korean dramedy that follows the path of a group of friends in the world of high fashion in South Korea. The series gets us inside the world of fashion and explores all the jobs and processes that are required to take a piece of clothing from its design stage to the hands of the public. It is a fascinating journey that is full of detail, and for those members of the audience that feel as much passion for fashion as the characters, it will be a treat. The series is now available on Netflix.
However, by consisting of only 8 episodes, some elements of the show do feel a bit shallow. Especially when we are talking about the characters. The main four protagonists are all quite charming, and it is easy to root for them and their dreams. However, they can also become quite annoying as they are trying to achieve their dreams, and basically, any stumble on the road makes them rethink their lives. At some point, the loop of giving up and not giving up becomes too repetitive. Thankfully, all of it ends on a high note.

What Happens To Our Heroes At The End Of The Fabulous Season 1?
The series follows the lives of four friends who share a love for fashion that is hard to explain. But each of them has their own tales and is moving in their own direction while in the world of high couture. For example, Woo-min is a photographer. He is very talented when it comes to capturing images on film and has been working as a freelancer and a part-timer at different photographic studios around Seoul. However, his true passion is in street photography, and he wants to build his portfolio around that. Some people warn him that he won’t make money with that.
Woo-min decides that is what he wants to do nonetheless, and he is being supported by her girlfriend, Ji-eun. Ji-eun is a public relations manager, and she has been building up her name by promoting and organizing several fashion shows throughout the series. In the end, she has managed to get her name out there enough that she is now being recruited by some very powerful and important brands to work with them. Ji-eun and Woo-min start as friends at the beginning of the season, but their feelings become too evident, and they decide to risk it.

Among the group of friends, we also have Seon-ho, a veteran fashion model who has been having a hard time lately. She is considered a veteran in the business, but she doesn’t feel like she has ever reached the peak of her popularity or her work. She is constantly being pushed around by her managers and photographers. Her entire presence in the show is a sort of commentary on fashion models and how some people can misjudge their characters as people because they are only meant to be pretty and nothing else.
At the end of the season, Seon-ho manages to get people behind her who truly support her work. She also manages to stand up for herself and discourage the kind of psychological abuse that many managers and photographers want to put models under. It is a great arc of empowerment, and Seon-ho comes off as one of the best characters in the show. Even if a bit more time could have been dedicated to exploring her relationships with the people outside her core group of friends. There is one more character, and the entire ending of the show spins around him.
Is Joseph’s Collection Launch Successful?
Last, but not least, is Joseph. He is the son of a very famous actress, and he can basically be labeled as a rich boy who has all the opportunities he might want to launch his own fashion brand. This is exactly what he does. At the start of the show, he tries to launch his career as a designer, but it all implodes, and he receives very bad reviews. However, his passion for being a designer knows no limits, so the entire second half of the show leads to his relaunch and how his friend helps him achieve his dream.
In the final episode, all the storylines collide during the launch of Earlaine J, Joseph’s own collection inside the Earlaine brand, which is one of the most important brands in South Korea. If Joseph makes it right, he is going to make it big, but if he fails, this might be his last chance to become a proper fashion designer. When it comes time to announce his new position inside the Earlaine, he is saved by a former rival named Thierry, and he dedicates his time to finishing his collection.

At the big presentation, Ji-eun works as the manager of the entire show, and she does an amazing job. Everything seems to be running smoothly, even if the last dress of the collection and the most important one hasn’t made it back from the factory. Woo-min is covering the event as a photographer and also serves as the first model to start the runway. Meanwhile, Seon-ho will be the last model, the one that finishes the show. The dress arrives, and the entire launch of the collection is a success. Joseph cannot help but cry as his dreams have finally come true.
In the end, the four friends think about all the wonderful things they have achieved thanks to their hard work, but also thanks to their friendship. Ji-eun, receives an offer from a very important PR firm. Woo-min decides to follow his dream of street photography. Seon-ho decides to travel the world and become an even more famous model, and Joseph decides to give love a chance now that he is a proper fashion designer.
