The Sandman: Netflix Reveals Official Teaser For The Anticipated Series Based On DC Comics
After months of waiting for some legit info, Netflix finally revealed an official teaser trailer and the release date for The Sandman, an anticipated series based on DC Comics. During Geeked Week, Netflix officially confirmed that the series will premiere on the streamer on August 5, 2022.
Based on the DC comic book of the same name by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg, The Sandman series was created by David S. Goyer, Allan Heinberg, and Neil Gaiman, author of the original comic book. The first season of the series was adapted from The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes, which was a collection of the first eight issues of the comic book. The comic book started publication in January 1989, and the original series ran for 75 issues until March 1996.
The series follows Tom Sturridge’s Dream, who is one of the seven entities that can control aspects of existence. The series is also starring Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, the ruler of Hell, which will introduce us to the newest incarnation of the character, different from Tom Ellis’ incarnation from the Lucifer series which concluded on Netflix last year.

To restore order, Dream must journey across different worlds and timelines to mend the mistakes he’s made during his vast existence, revisiting old friends and foes, and meeting new entities — both cosmic and human — along the way.” — The Sandman, official description
