‘The Tailor’ Ending Explained: What Happens Between Firuze and Peyami in the End?
Welcome to the Ending Explained for The Tailor, a new Turkish TV series arriving on Netflix this week. The series is created by Onur Güvenatam and stars Çagatay Ulusoy, Sifanur Gül, Salih Bademci, and Olgun Simsek. The series focuses on our main character Payami, who will have to learn to balance her professional life as a famous fashion designer and his personal life, where he needs to take care of his mentally disabled father and a woman who will end up falling in love.
The series uses melodrama as its main source of conflict, and this ends up giving the show the atmosphere, tone, and look, of something that is closer to a soap opera, than a standard TV series. Certainly, the storylines move inside the real soap operas easily, and it is quite strange to see this type of storytelling nowadays. It can be refreshing, but because the storylines are too cliché, they might scare some people from seeing the show’s entire season. There are things to love here, but there are also a lot of elements that feel quite dated.
The following paragraphs contain spoilers for The Tailor. Read at your own risk.
Does Peyami Find Her Mother In The End?
The Tailor pulls influences from some of the most intense soap operas in existence. We have it all in here. A love affair, secret marriages, lost mothers, guns, everything is always being played out for maximum effect, and the season finale of The Tailor plays all the whistles to perfection. Is it good storytelling? Not really, everything comes across as very cliché and generic, but at least we get to see our main leads finally jumping from platonic to declaring their love for each other. However, the script will always find a way to create a mess.
In the season finale, our main character Peyami finds a man named Osman. The man might be the only living human being connected to his mother. You see, Peyami’s family history is quite complicated and full of drama. Peyami is the son of a man named Mustafa. Mustafa has a severe mental condition, his mental disability never allowed his mind to fully developed, and he mostly acts like a kid, even now that he is an old man. Their grandparents basically raised Peyami. Of which his grandfather died at the beginning of the season.

Now, after having done tons of research, Peyami, along with Esvet manages to find a man who can make contact with her lost mother. They make an appointment where Peyami must play a song at a bar. In this way, her mother, who will be in attendance, will know who he is. Peyami plays his part, but his mother never comes forward. We see shots of a woman looking at Peyami from the crowd. This is her lost mother, but she seems sad and about to cry whenever she looks at him. Peyami leaves disappointed, even when Esvet is there to support him.
Peyami and Esvet’s relationship has clearly gone beyond any normal friendship. Sadly, the relationship still has many obstacles, which will be tackled in the second half of the episode. Right now, the series decides to introduce another mystery to the fold. We see a scene between Osman and the mystery woman, who is confirmed to be Peyami’s mother. Osman tells her she shouldn’t have come to see her son because a fire is not lit in her heart. Osman then suggests that she should confront his son and end each other’s misery. However, the woman says that she cannot meet her son.
What Happens Between Firuze And Peyami In The End?
The main core of the series is the two characters Peyami and Esvet. Peyami is a famous fashion designer in Turkey. He is quite respected, and his business is booming. We meet him for the first time during one of his fashion shows, and we can see that he knows what he is doing. He is always looking for perfection and very serious about his job. Peyami has more than just a lost mother, though, and when the news about the passing of his grandfather reaches him, he goes back home.
There, he is expected by her grandmother, a very serious and ruthless woman. She cares for him, even when she seems very cold. A problem arises, and that is Mustafa, Peyami’s father, who suffers from mental development. He acts like a kid, and it is quite troublesome to manage him. At the same time, we meet with Esvet, the fiancée of Dimitri, one of Peyami’s best friends. Esvet is beautiful and a good person, but Dimitri constantly abuses her. The first time we meet her, he takes her out of a chest, where she almost dies asphyxiated.
Dimitri is a monster, and Esvet escapes. She is forced to marry Dimitri by an agreement between both families. Esvet escapes and works at Peyami’s state as Mustafa’s caretaker. Grandman then decides to marry Esvet, who is going by the name Firuze, with Mustafa. At the same time, Esvet and Peyami get closer and closer, and they fall in love with each other. Of course, the situation cannot last, and Dimitri discovers that Esvet is hiding with Peyami. Dimitri goes to Peyami’s house looking for Esvet, but when he can’t find her, he leaves a message for Peyami.

Dimitri states a time and place, and if Peyami is not there with Esvet, he says there will be consequences. Esvet reveals the truth to Peyami, but he won’t let her leave. He loves her. He will protect and not allow her to return with a man like Dimitri. Grandma is against the situation, but she gives a gun to Peyami to end the situation and bring Esvet with him in the end. If he really loves her, he will kill her. Esvet and Peyami go to the meeting. Peyami still believes he can make Dimitri understand if he talks to him. Esvet is unsure.
Dimitri and Peyami confront each other, and Dimitri cannot believe his best friend did this to him. Dimitri asks if Peyami had sex with Esvet but Peyami denies it. Dimitri pulls out a gun and begins threatening Peyami with it. Esvet arrives with Grandma’s gun, and the pair is set on a Mexican standoff, with Peyami in the middle trying to put their guns down. Dimitri asks Esvet if he loves Peyami, and she confesses that she loves him before shooting Dimitri. However, the bullet connects with Peyami instead.
The season ends with Esvet and Dimitri staring at Peyami from above as he goes unconscious.
