The Upcoming ‘Teen Titans’ Live-Action Movie Has Found Its Writer
Gunn and Safran took charge of what used to be called DCEU, renaming it as DCU. Over a year ago, they unveiled their plans for ‘Chapter 1: Gods & Monsters’. By January 2023, the DC cinematic universe was described as undergoing a significant but not total overhaul, planning a multi-year storyline.
James Gunn and Peter Safran revealed the initial projects of this new lineup on January 31. They shared details about the writers behind the overarching story: Drew Goddard, Jeremy Slater, Christina Hodson (who wrote ‘The Flash’), Christal Henry, and comic book writer Tom King. The plan involved breaking down the stories into chapters, starting with ‘Gods and Monsters.’ This chapter included five films: ‘Superman’ (2025), ‘The Authority,’ ‘The Brave and the Bold,’ ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow,’ and ‘Swamp Thing.’
Additionally, five television series were part of this initial phase: ‘Creature Commandos,’ ‘Waller,’ ‘Lanterns,’ ‘Paradise Lost,’ and ‘Booster Gold.’ The aim was to blend well-known DC characters like Batman and Superman with lesser-known ones. Projects not fitting into this shared universe concept would be labeled “DC Elseworlds.” The approach drew inspiration from franchises like Star Wars and Game of Thrones, prioritizing diverse settings and morally complex characters.
Recently, we’ve discussed rumors about the development of a live-action ‘Teen Titans’ movie, which has now been confirmed. The storyline and potential cast remain uncertain, but The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the studio has already chosen a writer.
Ana Nogueira, known for her roles in ‘Supergirl: the Woman of Tomorrow,’ ‘Sarah + Dee,’ and ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ has been hired to write the script. In addition to her work on ‘Supergirl’ and ‘Teen Titans,’ she’s also involved in the latest episodes of ‘Hightown.’
