TIGER & BUNNY Season 3: Release Date, Trailer, Plot & Cast

TIGER & BUNNY is a Japanese anime series created in 2011. The series features crime-fighting superheroes on a game show called Hero TV. The anime series has been renewed for a second season, which premiered in April 2022. But, what about a third season? In this article, we are going to bring you everything you need to know about a potential third season of TIGER & BUNNY.

The third season of TIGER & BUNNY still hasn’t been confirmed yet. The second season premiered only several days ago, and there’s still the upcoming second part which does not have a release date, so we don’t know much about its future. Still, TIGER & BUNNY is a very popular series, and based on all the known facts, a third season is highly probable. We just don’t know when.

The rest of this article is going to bring you all the known and unknown information related to ta potential season three of TIGER & BUNNY. You’re going to find out about its release date, whether there is a trailer, what the story could be about, the basic cast information, and much more about this intriguing anime series.

TIGER & BUNNY Season 3 release date

The first season of TIGER & BUNNY aired from April 3, 2011 to September 18, 2011 in Japan. The series had a total of 25 episodes, and was later picked up internationally and broadcast around the world. For the first thirteen episodes, the opening theme is “Orion wo Nazoru” (オリオンをなぞる, “Trace of Orion”) by Unison Square Garden, while the ending theme is “Hoshi no Sumika” (星のすみか, “A Star’s Dwelling”) by Aobouzu. For episodes fourteen onwards, the opening theme is “Missing Link” by Novels, while the ending theme is “Mind Game” by Tamaki.

In the meantime, a loosely-adapted spin-off anime series, Double Decker! Doug & Kirill, was released on September 30, 2018. Two anime films, Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning and Tiger & Bunny: The Rising, were released on September 22, 2012 and February 8, 2014 respectively. On March 30, 2019, it was officially announced that a sequel to the original TIGER & BUNNY series was currently in production.

The title of the sequel series – which is TIGER & BUNNY 2 – was officially confirmed on April 2, 2020. Additional information surfaced a year later, when revealed that the season would officially premiere on April 8, 2022 on Netflix, but with a twist. Namely, it was confirmed that the season would have 25 episodes, like the first one, but that it would also be split into two parts, with the first one premiering in April 2022; the first part would contain 13 episodes. No release info about the second part was given.

Now, in light of all of this, where does this leave us with a potential third season, as the second part of Season 2 is not, officially, a third season. TIGER & BUNNY is very popular and Netflix seems to be having a lot of success with the title; the “problem” here is that it is a completely original work so we don’t have any core material based on which we could predict the future of the series.

Taking all of this into account, TIGER & BUNNY‘s future seems very bright. The original anime series is, as we have said, quite popular, and there is absolutely no doubt that the creators behind the concept want it to continue even further; if we combine this with the fact that the second season premiered only recently, makes us very hopeful. In any case, the earliest we could see a potential second season is 2024, but we’d have to get some confirmation on the future during 2022 or 2023.

TIGER & BUNNY Season 3 trailer

You now know all the facts and our thoughts related to TIGER & BUNNY Season 3, which means that you’ve probably deduced for yourselves that there is no trailer for the third season of TIGER & BUNNY. This is because we do not know whether there will even be a third season of the show, which means that a trailer might not appear at all. But, based on all the information we have, this does not seem like a likely outcome.

As we have said, TIGER & BUNNY is a very likely candidate for a return. The original anime series was quite popular and we are absolutely certain that the creators of the show have a lot more adventures in store for us, probably enormously so, in fact. Still, we have to wait and see whether there are actual plans for a continuation before we can make a proper prediction. Be that as it may, TIGER & BUNNY is currently on track with its second season, so we’ll have to wait and see how that ends to make any proper prediction.

Taking into account everything we’ve said, a trailer for TIGER & BUNNY is unlikely to come out this or the next year. The earliest we could see a trailer is 2024, but we would have to get confirmation of a third season sometime during 2023 for that to happen.

TIGER & BUNNY Season 3 plot

As you might have guessed, TIGER & BUNNY is an original anime series, which means that it is not based on any preexisting work. It has been adapted into a manga, but the manga is, in this case, based on the anime, and not the other way around. This means that we don’t actually know much about the plot of Season 3 of TIGER & BUNNY, save for what has been revealed in the trailers. The protagonists are going to face new threats of various origins, but that’s pretty much it as far as we know, especially since we don’t even know how the upcoming second part of Season 2 is going to end.

In order to prepare you, though, here is a recap of the first season’s plot of TIGER & BUNNY.

The anime takes place in the fictional Sternbild, a city where there are individuals called “NEXT” (an acronym for Noted Entities with eXtraordinary Talents), people who have special abilities. Some of them use their powers to protect the population, but, because of the volume of superpowered beings in this world, being a hero has become a job supported by several companies that seek to promote their brands.

They now fight crime and save lives so they can use the sponsors’ logo, get more points, and have their heroic activities broadcast on the popular entertainment show, Hero TV, which chooses through a ranking who will be known as the “King of Heroes”.

In the story, we follow the protagonists Kaburagi T. Kotetsu and Barnaby Brooks Jr., two characters who live in the city of Sternbild and work as superheroes for completely different reasons. Kotetsu has always thought about helping other people, just like he did when he was rescued by Mr. Legend from a bank robbery.

After his wife died of a terrible illness, Kaburagi almost gave up on continuing to work as a hero, however, Tomoe made him promise that even after his death, he would still work saving people, as that was the big reason for his life. become the Wild Tiger. Barnaby seeks revenge for the death of his parents in a Christmas Eve fire caused by a mysterious criminal group called Ouroboros.

However, Brooks Jr. couldn’t see the killer’s face though, he noticed the culprit had a strange tattoo of a snake eating its own tail. Since then, Barnaby has been training hard to increase his strength and get the revenge he craves, to fulfill that desire, he became a hero.

By an act of fate, these two were forced to work together, even though they have divergent goals, as Wild Tiger thinks about saving people, while Barnaby wants to be the number one hero to get the attention of the Brooks family’s group of assassins.

TIGER & BUNNY Season 3 cast

It’s still too early for us to discuss a potential third season of TIGER & BUNNY in terms of cast and characters, simply because we do not know whether there will even be a third season; the whole second season still hasn’t aired yet. But, seeing how we know that the series is going to have a more-or-less fixed cast, we really don’t expect to see too many changes in the structure of season three, if it ever happens. Now, the main characters that have appeared in season one, likely to return for a third season, include:

  • Hiroaki Hirata as Kotetsu T. Kaburagi/Wild Tiger

Where to watch TIGER & BUNNY Season 3?

At this moment, as expected, there is no means of watching TIGER & BUNNY season three, as there is no season three of TIGER & BUNNY to watch. The first season was, initially, streamed by various services in the West, including Hulu, but has since come under Netflix’s banner, which re-streamed the first season and produced the second one as well. This is why a third season of TIGER & BUNNY, if it gets made, is certainly going to appear on Netflix as well.

Will there be a TIGER & BUNNY Season 4?

The future of TIGER & BUNNY is, as of this moment, unknown. At this moment, we don’t really know anything about a third season, so whether we’ll be seeing the fourth season or not is still unknown. The series has done impressively well for Netflix and we’re certain that the writers have more ideas in mind, which is a good sign for fans of TIGER & BUNNY, but we are going to have to wait and see how the situation with season three evolves to know more about a potential season four, although it is likely from this perspective.
