Todd Stashwick Joins the Cast of the ‘Vision’ Series — Here’s Our Best Guess on His Role
The MCU has a lot of upcoming movies and Disney+ shows in the works, and there have been recent updates about the new ‘Vision’ series, which will center on White Vision.
James Spader is confirmed to reprise his role as Ultron, and Scarlet Witch might make an appearance as well. While ‘Vision’ is already part of the ‘WandaVision’ trilogy alongside ‘Agatha All Along,’ it looks like it could also be introducing new characters and fresh storylines.
The show takes place after the events of ‘WandaVision,’ following White Vision’s escape from Westview. While it’s unclear how Ultron will fit into the story, we do know that the plot will revolve around White Vision searching for meaning in his existence.
During this journey, a new character, played by Todd Stashwick, will be introduced. The ‘Picard’ actor is reportedly cast as a human assassin who is on the hunt for White Vision and the advanced technology he possesses.
Though fans may wonder how a human could possibly track down and combat a sophisticated android like Vision, it’s important to remember that Stashwick’s character may have access to some formidable technology himself.
Since Stashwick’s role is described as “human,” this narrows down the possibilities for who he could be playing. It is likely he might portray an original character or a reimagined version of a comic book figure whose superpowers have been toned down.
One possibility is that Stashwick could play another version of Spymaster, specifically Ted Calloway. While there is already one Spymaster in the MCU, multiple characters have assumed the mantle in the comics. Spymaster, regardless of the identity behind the mask, is typically a foe of Tony Stark and has been involved in several plots to steal Stark Industries’ technology. He has also collaborated with various villains and groups, including Justin Hammer and A.I.M.
Spymaster would make sense as a character hunting White Vision, aiming to unlock his secrets for rival factions.
Alternatively, Stashwick could be playing Carl Burbank, better known as Bushwacker. Primarily an enemy of Daredevil, the Punisher, and Wolverine, there’s no reason he couldn’t be adapted to start with White Vision and eventually face other heroes. Originally a priest turned CIA operative, Burbank was subjected to cybernetic enhancements, turning his right arm into a weapon capable of transforming into various firearms, like machine guns and flamethrowers.
After leaving the CIA, Burbank became a mercenary and contract killer, often hired to eliminate mutants, superheroes, and other targets, eventually adopting the name “Bushwacker.”
