Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas’s Film ‘Deeper’ Reportedly Put on Hold

The upcoming film Deeper, starring Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas, has reportedly been put on hold. Directed by Doug Liman, the movie had already been given the green light, and both Cruise and de Armas were in London recently, rehearsing for their roles.

According to Daniel Richtman, who shared the news on his Patreon, the reason behind the delay is related to the Trump tariffs. These tariffs have raised concerns, making it difficult for the production to move forward as planned.

Fans were looking forward to seeing the chemistry between Cruise and de Armas on screen, especially after reports of their time together in London. However, it looks like the project will have to wait until the issues are resolved.

There has been no official statement from the production team or the actors about the delay. Fans are hoping that the situation will be resolved soon so that filming can continue.

Deeper is a supernatural thriller about an astronaut who faces a terrifying force while exploring a deep, unexplored ocean trench. The project has been in development for nearly 10 years, starting at MGM in 2016 after they bought a script from Max Landis.

Bradley Cooper was originally going to star, and Kornél Mundruczó was set to direct, but the project didn’t move forward. Later, Idris Elba and Baltasar Kormákur were involved, but it still didn’t work out.

If the movie finally gets made, it will be the third or fourth collaboration between Tom Cruise and director Doug Liman, following Edge of Tomorrow and American Made. They are also working on another film about NASA, which will be filmed in space with SpaceX, though that project is still in development.
